Overview
Seeking a detail-oriented Finance & Operations Assistant to support the Senior Financial Analyst with daily accounting activities, invoice management, and financial reporting. This part-time opportunity offers hands-on experience within a professional higher-education publishing environment.
Job Description

Review, record, and track incoming invoices to ensure accurate and timely processing.

Verify invoice amounts, purchase-order alignment, supporting documentation, and payment status.

Identify discrepancies or missing information and coordinate with the appropriate stakeholders to resolve them.

Organize and maintain financial reports, invoice records, and supporting documentation.

Compile information from multiple sources and format recurring financial reports.

Support reconciliation activities by comparing invoice records with budget and expenditure data.

Perform data entry and maintain invoice-tracking and financial-reporting spreadsheets.

Communicate professionally with vendors and internal teams regarding invoice details.

Assist the Senior Financial Analyst with special projects and other assigned tasks.
Required Skills

Previous administrative, finance, or accounting support experience preferred.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, including basic formulas, sorting, filtering, and data entry.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling numerical information.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Ability to complete recurring tasks independently with minimal supervision.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.

Oracle or other ERP/financial-system experience is helpful but not required.
Education Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field preferred.
