About the Role

Lonestar MGA is a growing regional personal auto insurance carrier seeking an Underwriting Assistant / Customer Service Representative to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong customer service skills who are interested in developing a career in the insurance industry. No underwriting experience is required-we provide comprehensive training.

This is an on-site position.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by providing timely and accurate responses to agents and policyholders.
  • Assist with quotes, endorsements, policy changes, and renewals.
  • Enter and process new business policies, endorsements, and renewal transactions.
  • Respond professionally to phone calls, emails, and written correspondence.
  • Develop knowledge of insurance coverages, underwriting guidelines, rating plans, and state-specific requirements.
  • Support underwriting operations through data entry, reporting, and administrative tasks.
  • Help improve departmental workflows and procedures.
  • Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • Insurance or personal auto underwriting experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Property & Casualty (P&C) license is a plus.
  • Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates are highly encouraged to apply.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
