The Opportunity
Help shape the future workforce of one of the nation’s leading public health agencies. As the Recruitment Operations / Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will support a highly regarded federal public health agency during an important period of workforce modernization and mission growth. You will be part of a small, experienced consulting team helping the agency build a stronger, more coordinated talent function while supporting active hiring priorities in scientific, clinical, technical, regulatory, data, and mission-critical fields.
The Recruitment Operations / Talent Acquisition Specialist will help bring structure, consistency, and momentum to high-priority recruitment efforts. You will support intake, position clarification, recruitment campaign coordination, candidate tracking, screening coordination, interview coordination, hiring manager communication, and follow-up activities that keep complex hiring efforts moving.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the pace of recruiting operations but also wants to help improve the system around the work. You will help create the processes, templates, communication practices, and service delivery habits that make recruitment more transparent, responsive, and scalable.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day recruitment coordination, service delivery, stakeholder engagement, candidate engagement workflows, and recruitment process execution.
- Assist stakeholders in organizing hiring needs, clarifying priorities, translating workforce requirements into recruitment actions, and maintaining visibility into progress.
- Coordinate intake meetings, position clarification, campaign activities, candidate tracking, screening logistics, interview coordination, hiring manager communications, and follow-up actions.
- Support standardized recruitment processes, templates, candidate communication practices, issue tracking, barrier resolution, and continuous improvement of recruitment operations.
- Support recruitment efforts involving scientific, clinical, regulatory, technical, artificial intelligence, digital health, data science, food safety, medical product, life sciences, operational, administrative, and other mission-critical positions.
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to the requirements of the government contracts AE Strategies supports.
- Ability to work onsite three (3) days a week in Silver Spring, MD.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, communications, or a related field.
- At least ten (10) years of relevant experience in recruitment operations, talent acquisition, staffing coordination, executive search support, candidate engagement, or hiring operations.
- Experience supporting recruitment campaigns, managing candidate workflows, coordinating with hiring managers or stakeholders, tracking recruitment status, and supporting candidate or applicant processes.
- Strong organization, urgency, and follow-through, with the judgment to know what needs to be escalated and what can be solved directly.
- Clear, professional communication style with candidates, clients, and internal team members.
- Ability to work well in a small-firm consulting environment where people are expected to own details, adapt quickly, and help outside narrow job boundaries when the mission requires it.
- Experience supporting scientific, technical, clinical, regulatory, Federal, or specialized hiring is preferred.
Salary Range: $120,000 - $135,000 per year, depending on experience.
