Lakesite Accounting is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Multi-Client Bookkeeper to join our bookkeeping team.
This is a hands-on, client-facing position managing day-to-day and month-end bookkeeping for a portfolio of small-business clients. You’ll work across multiple sets of books, manage competing deadlines, identify and resolve accounting issues, and communicate directly with business owners, CPAs, and other professionals.
- Hours: 15–20 hours/week initially, with the expectation of growing to 25–30 hours/week
- Location: Fully remote — U.S. based
- Schedule: Flexible schedule within normal business hours
- Compensation: $24–$26/hour, based on experience and qualifications

Responsibilities
- Manage bookkeeping for multiple clients simultaneously
- Maintain QBO and/or Xero accounts
- Perform bank, credit-card, loan, and other reconciliations
- Handle AP, AR, payroll, journal entries, and month-end close
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies and unusual transactions
- Maintain clean, organized, audit-ready digital files
- Prepare sales tax filings and 1099s
- Support year-end closing and work with CPAs and tax professionals
- Communicate professionally with clients and team members
- Manage deadlines and priorities independently
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of professional bookkeeping experience
- Prior experience managing multiple clients simultaneously
- Public accounting, outsourced accounting, or bookkeeping-firm experience strongly preferred
- Strong QuickBooks Online experience and QBO ProAdvisor Certifications I & II
- Experience with reconciliations, month-end close, AP, AR, and payroll
- Strong Excel, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
- U.S. based and authorized to work in the U.S.
- Xero experience and an accounting/finance degree or certification are a plus.
