Position Overview:


As a Customer Service Representative at Matador Gas & Power, you will serve as the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service through various channels including phone, email, and in-person interactions. You will assist customers with inquiries, service requests, account management, and troubleshooting, ensuring that all propane-related services are delivered efficiently and effectively. Your ability to understand customer needs, provide solutions, and build lasting relationships will be key to your success in this role.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding propane delivery, billing, and services.
  • Provide accurate product information and guide customers in selecting appropriate propane services for their needs.
  • Schedule and coordinate propane deliveries, installations, and maintenance services.
  • Manage customer accounts, including setting up new accounts, processing payments, and assisting with billing issues.
  • Handle customer complaints or concerns with empathy, professionalism, and a solution-oriented approach.
  • Collaborate with field technicians and other departments to ensure timely and accurate service.
  • Process orders and maintain accurate customer records in the company’s database.
  • Educate customers on propane safety protocols and company policies.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge to provide expert guidance to customers.
  • Follow up on service inquiries to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with inventory management and stock requests as necessary.
  • Perform other administrative tasks and duties as needed.
Requirements

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Previous customer service experience, preferably in the propane or energy sector.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities with a customer-first attitude.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and CRM software.
  • Knowledge of propane safety and industry standards is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Working Conditions:


  • Office-based position with occasional field visits if required.
  • Some evenings or weekends may be required depending on service needs.
  • Occasional on-call support may be necessary during peak times.
