About the Role

As the HR Generalist I, you will provide administrative and operational support for the Human Resources function, partnering closely with the HR team to deliver a positive employee experience across the Bank. This role is responsible for supporting benefits administration, leave of absence programs, recruiting and onboarding activities, payroll coordination, compliance initiatives, and HR systems administration. In addition, the HR Generalist I serves as a resource for employee programs, wellness and safety initiatives, workers' compensation administration, and other day-to-day HR processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and eager to build a strong foundation in Human Resources while developing expertise across multiple HR disciplines. This is a Full-Time, Non-Exempt, and Onsite position. 

 

Benefits & LOA

  • Assist and educate employees in the benefit offerings.  Make sure proper enrollment and changes are done timely and without error. 
  • Administer employee FMLA, ADA, GLA and other leaves of absence. Coordinates with employees and corporate liaison to administer the LOA system process, communications, and coordination. 
  • Administering company awards programs- Service Awards and Retirement Awards 
  • Act as a liaison for Safety, the Wellness program, and Workers Compensation between Corporate and Guaranty. Gather and disseminate information to branch liaisons. Maintain reports and activities in conjunction with GBCI Wellness and & Safety Coordinator.  
  • Assist the Bank with any Workers’ Comp filings and paperwork

Recruiting 

  • Assist Recruiter with any job postings, setting up interviews, and administrative tasks involved with the recruiting process 
  • Ensure new hire and terminated employee checklists are accurate, complete, and in compliance with policy 
  • Assisting in Onboarding activities such as Virtual Freshman Orientation

Administration 

  • Ensure timecards and all other required information are accurate and approved for payroll 
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with handbook acknowledgement, open enrollment, ergonomic assessments, etc.  
  • Maintain Notary information and assist in administering any recertifications 
  • Submitting TWC requests timely and participating in any TWC hearings 
  • Submitting invoices for the HR Department 
  • Gathering Employee Exit Survey information an submitting to the appropriate person 
  • Administer any changes in the HR system, as well as, following protocol with any Glacier policies and procedures. 
  • Various additional duties as assigned 

About You

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent, required
  • 2 or more years of experience in a clerical environment, required 
  • Prior banking experience, preferred 
  • Prior HR experience or education, preferred 

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm with a 1-hour lunch break.

 

Work Location: This employee will office at one of the Guaranty Bank & Trust locations listed below. Candidates must live within a 30-minute communite of either of the two locations.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: Starting salary is dependent upon relevant experience and may vary based on the geographic location of the position. Most Full-Time employees are also offered 6 paid holidays and Part Time employees are offered pro-rated paid holidays.
